Train the Trainer
We are one of Limerick’s busiest ADI driving instructor trainers, and are only able to accept candidates who have passed their RSA Part 1 theory exam. For Part 2, we usually need 4 to 5 hours to prepare the applicant, while Part 3 can take as many as 20 hours although this seldom happens. Students who are proactive between lessons and space them out may need only half that time.
While becoming an ADI is not a licence to print money, it does provide steady income and is a great career for people-oriented people with loads of patience and enthusiasm for turning out safe attentive drivers.
Teach the Driver
Since April 4, 2011 students with a first learner permit must complete the RSA’s essential driver program EDT before they can do a full license test (the same applies to licenced drivers migrating in from other countries). This program focuses on controlling a light vehicle in urban and country conditions, the objective being safe, responsible and caring driving with basic understanding of mechanics.
Tutorial Videos
Although the government RSA agency requires in-car EDT training by an approved driving instructor, many students benefit from background videos viewed from an examiner perspective, and illustrating movements such as parallel parking, and reversing into a tight parking bay between two cars. Technical Checks
Finally, we single out technical skills that are becoming increasingly important at Limerick testing centres.
